Is nice to get some money from Motorola.

What would be nicer is if it’s possible to install your own build of GNOME on future handsets. From what I know, Motorola uses DRM to prevent running of unsigned software on the device. This is probably a requirement of the carriers ($$$).

Hi Dave,

It’s great news indeed that Google and Motorola have joined the Gnome Foundation Advisory Board and sponsored the Gnome Foundation. As I’m sure you know, a diverse community and active participation from a wide range of members is important to the success of any project following an open development and collaboration model (and why LiMo’s breadth of membership helps the success of the platform).

Meanwhile, please take a look at Moto not dropping LiMo Linux – I’d suggest “turning away from LiMo” is a bit over-dramatic!

PS: Not a US citizen, but I do care, and also hopes that Obama will do well and win this election!
