Free Java, free videos

Since a couple of you were asking about it, there are now OGG versions of last week’s Java webcast videos (the webcast plus the ‘talking head’ segments from RMS, James Gosling, Mark Shuttleworth, Tim O’Reilly et al.) on Sun’s Open Source Java page.

Sun should really look at polishing up Cortado and making that the default player for their corporate online video- Free + more Free + using your own stuff instead of a significant competitor’s = goodness.

  2. Zaheer Says:

I second Luis, cortado works really well these days on all platforms on all VMs (especially on Sun’s JVM).

  3. Luis Says:

It is still pretty ugly, Zaheer, compared to the player options from youtube or google video- that is why I mention ‘polish’. But yes, a good, Free, base.

  4. Zaheer Says:

Luis, it can be controlled completely from javascript so is easily made non-ugly by web designers.
