I have picked up a lens adapter from lensmateonline.com and a lens hood for it. They have vastly improved the handling, making it feel more like and SLR. The nice thing about the lensmate adapter, rather than the canon one is that it is machined from aluminum rather than the plastic used by canon. This inexpensive accessory really has made using my S3 even nicer. I highly recommend looking into it. I too have an S3 and I really enjoy it.
