  • Colin Walters optmized function invocation in gjs (GNOME bug 604076).
  • Also in gjs, Johan Dahlin pushed the beginning of a module wrapping cairo.
  • In GNOME Shell Floran Müllner added fading out of the desktop icons when showing the overview. (GNOME bug 600999)
  • Gnumeric got a fix on the way it uses to store floading point values in ODF. (GNOME bug 610372)
  • Tomas Bzatek fixed gvfs to correctly store ssh/sftp passwords in the keyring, when requested. (GNOME bug 580024)
  • gparted has been changed to indicate required software packages if unable to read file system (GNOME bug 576908)
  • gcalctool documentation has been rewritten in the new Mallard format.
  • Rygel has been updated to support uploading, this works in both standalone and Tracker backends.
  • Lapo Calamamandrei added the last two missing navigation icons (home and jump) to the new GNOME Icon Theme.
  • Kupfer got a plugin that makes it able to look inside compressed archives.
  • Alexander Kojevnikov implemented support for the media art storage specification to Banshee (to be honest, a simplified version of the proposal). (GNOME bug 520516)

  • Brasero got a way to switch between different project types, for example converting from an audio project to a data project. (GNOME bug 558440)
  • The Evolution contact map plugin by Cédric Bosdonnat has been commited, Cédric announced the plugin in Maps for Evolution. (GNOME bug 361156)
  • An iPhone port of Dasher has been pushed.
  • Cheese saw ports from HAL to gudev (GNOME bug 594966), from EphySpinner to GtkSnipper (GNOME bug 598445), and from straight GStreamer to libcanberra (GNOME bug 603152).
  • Support for callback functions has been pushed into gjs. (GNOME bug 563025)
  • Paolo Bacchilega updated file roller to use an EggFileFormatChooser widget for file format selection.
  • Diego Escalante Urrelo worked hard updating the API docs of Epiphany. (GNOME bug 503852)
  • Support for compression has been added to the TIFF pixbuf loader. (GNOME bug 584700)
  • Matt Kraai made the totem-pl-parser library thread-safe. (GNOME bug 572705)
  • Jonathon Jongsma refactored error reporting in Evolution to separate error from dialogs. (GNOME bug 602963)

  • DBus support has been added to gjs. (GNOME bug 580948).
  • gnome-power-manager went back to use the original idletime code to fix backlight bugs, Richard Hughes explained in his commit that “The new IDLETIME code from gnome-session is very buggy, and the old code was much easier to understand. This should fix random DPMS off blanking and the fade-up-down-up on session resume.”
  • In Empathy Pierre-Luc Beaudouin added support to display the locations of contacts on a map widget (provided by libchamplain). (GNOME bug 571667)
  • Vinagre gained a new “read-only” toggle button in its toolbar. (GNOME bug 583230)
  • Johannes Schmid removed the remaining libglade bits from anjuta, that is now using GtkBuilder. (GNOME bug 530740)
  • gdl, the GNOME Docking Library, removed its dependency on libgnome (GNOME bug 580860) and dropped libglade in favour of GtkBuilder (GNOME bug 582511).
  • xchat-gnome got rid of the deprecated GTK+ symbols it was using (GNOME bug 572239).
  • More than five years after it was first reported, thanks to the migration to WebKit, Epiphany will now set the Referer header when opening links in new tabs. (GNOME bug 120341)

This week… 1495 commits, in 194 projects, by 193 happy hackers (and 284 were translation commits).

Alongside Alexander Larsson finishing the removal of libgnome usage from Nautilus, other hackers and projects made the same kind of changes, Ignacio Casal Quinteiro in Anjuta, Christian Persch in gnome-games and totem, Francisco Rojas in gyrus (GNOME IMAP/Cyrus Administrator), Iain Holmes in Marlin (who also started porting it from gnome-vfs to gio). In GTK+ land, Michael Natterer implemented the GtkOrientable interface on GtkBox and Robert Staudinger moved libccss out of his gtk-css-engine and proposed a plan for theming in gtk3. Finally Gjs (Javascript bindings for GNOME) has landed in Subversion (Havoc and Lucas blogged about it already).
