Nautilus gained a “copy anyway” option in the error dialog it displays when there is not enough space on the destination . (GNOME bug 324361)

Richard Hugues probably added Super Cow Powers to gnome-packagekit, carefully hiding this fact in 50 commits with “Moo”, or a slight variation, as commit message.

Ryan Lortie merged the various dconf* utilities in a single “dconf” tool, also he added API documentation.

The gtk-2.90 branch was created and saw the removal of many deprecated widgets and functions.

Devhelp got a new fullscreen mode, mostly thanks to code from gedit.

In Evolution Matthew Barnes finally got pane size restoration to play nicely with maximised windows . (GNOME bug 593612)

gok has been migrated to use GtkBuilder instead of libglade . (GNOME bug 582504)

gvfs has been fixed to display the overwrite dialog when restoring already existing files from trash . (GNOME bug 596618)

Rhythmbox has been ported to use gnome-session for inhibition support, inhibiting the session to go idle (thus preventing gnome-power-manager from suspending the computer due to inactivity ). (GNOME bug 596573)

Marina Zhurakhinskaya extented GNOME Shell application search to match on menu categories . (GNOME bug 597153)

Nautilus has been changed to inhibit gnome-power-manager when copying files (GNOME bug 334806).

Simon van der Linden landed much of his summer of code work on pybank (using gobject-introspection to create dynamic Python bindings to gobject libraries) in the gsco2009 branch.

GConf has removed its libgnome dependency (which was casued by a test client ) (GNOME bug 586435), and was ported to the PolicyKit 1.0 API (GNOME bug 585303).

Benjamin Otte ported byzanz (screencast tool) from gnome-vfs to gio, and from gdk to cairo.

Thanks to a change in libgweather it is now possible to add an UTC time entry to the clock applet . (GNOME bug 541145)

Jean Bréfort added a new cairo-based canvas to goffice, to be used in Gnumeric, to replace foocanvas.

Every little part of gnome-panel has been ported to GtkBuilder.

The gvfs gphoto2 backend and monitor were ported to gudev.

Most of the C++ bindings were transitioned to a new build infrastructure, using the new mm-common module.

In Yelp Shaun McCance added the possibility for ghelp: URIs to reference Mallard documents.

And an all-new Mallard documentation, mostly written by Milo Casagrande and Phil Bull, has been merged into Empathy.

Dan Winship ported SoupAddress to use GResolver, new in the latest GLib.

Finally Matthew Barnes added support for “Fifth Sunday *of the month*” to Evolution (in his kill-bonobo branch) (and it also works for other weekdays !) (GNOME bug 328361).

A new theme, Moblesse, has been added to the experimental GTK+ CSS theme engine.

Milan Crha fixed several issues and improved the performance of the evolution-data-server CalDAV backend.

Philippe Rouquier commited a new layout for the Brasero user interface: the medium selector is still inside the main window and on clicking burn a dialog appears to set the session burning options

In both libgoffice and gnumeric Andreas J. Guelzow improved Open Document Format support (number style output, scientific number output, time and date styles, import of currency symbols, and much more).

F-Spot Adjust Time dialog, and gnome-session windows, have been ported from libglade to GtkBuilder.

A Python binding for libbrasero-burn has been added to gnome-python-desktop.

As explained in his Data about Data weblog post, Alexander Larsson added metadata support in gvfs, and already made Nautilus use it.

Empathy has been updated to use gnome-session instead of gnome-screensaver to know when the session is idle.

Benjamin Otte did some research on the GTK+ file chooser performance
(explained in a tale of waiting message in the
gtk-devel-list, be sure to also read the followup messages), and pushed a new “filesystemmodel” branch to publicize his work.

Still in the aftermath of the Git migration, 189 commits were about DOAP files and JHBuild got his Git support quite improved.

Empathy now displays the transfer speed in its file transfer dialog . (GNOME bug 580097)

This week… 2594 commits, in 269 projects, by 223 happy hackers (and 993 were translation commits).

2.26 got released on Wednesday, and translators worked hard, a special mention for the Maithili and Assamese teams, that improved their percentages by near 20 points.

An initial backend support for GDB Variable Objects landed in Nemiver.

Philippe Rouquier started splitting brasero between backend and application.

The Mini-Commander applet got support for https URL . (GNOME bug 575782)

Cosimo Cecchi fixed nautilus to spawn its windows on the correct screen, instead of always using the default one . (GNOME bug 555078)

Epiphany got support for translucent link-message statusbar, ‘Inspired’ from Chrome, will show the link-message in a translucent floating div on the bottom left corner of the web view if the normal statusbar is hidden.

Cody Russel improved the GTK+ menu theming on Win32, using the new menu styling API, it makes GTK+ looks much better on Windows Vista . (GNOME bug 538840)

Rhythmbox will now use the new GtkEntry API for the “clear” icon in its search entry, rather than libsexy’s SexyIconEntry; also GnomeHRef usage has been replaced with GtkLinkButton, that removes the libgnome dependency.

Also the Rhythmbox Jamendo XML parser got rewritten to create database entries in a single pass, rather than creating an intermediate structure and converting that to database entries. This speeds up catalogue loading and reduces memory consumption . (GNOME bug 424423)

Rygel got transcoding support, from any format (that GStreamer can handle) to
mp3, LPCM and mpeg transport stream.

In the Murrine GTK+ engine Andrea Cimitan removed shadows from comboboxentry’s button and welcomes any feedback on this.

Finally two new modules in Subversion this week: Jordi Mas imported Mistelixa, a DVD authoring tool, and Krzesimir Nowak imported libvtemm, C++ bindings to libvte.

Lucas Rocha merged his session-saving branch into gnome-session trunk.

Epiphany (webkit) started using SoupProxyResolverGNOME, so it gets support for GNOME proxy settings through libproxy.

Most important, ORBit2 stopped calling g_thread_init() to accomodate the sensitiveness of Microsoft Windows and will display a warning if it was not previously called, this will need changes in a lot of places . (GNOME bug 547885)

Jürg Billeter fixed lots of bugs in vala, applied patches, and generally enhanced things (notably the D-Bus server was rewritten to directly use libdbus, without dbus-glib marshalling) and released 0.5.3.

Vala-related, Stefan Walter removed last vala traces from seahorse.

The libgnomeui dependency was removed from the brightness and inhibit applets, NetworkManager OpenVPN and PPTP support, and libgnome usage was removed from the dictionary applet.

Alexander Larsson merged eel into nautilus and eel usage was consequently removed from nautilus-cd-burner and brasero.

Empathy got autocompletion of contact names in its “new message” dialog box . (GNOME bug 552296)

Patrick Welche updated Dasher from gnome-vfs to gvfs.

g_timeout_add_seconds replaced g_timeout_add in several new places: in nautilus-sendto, gnome-power-manager, gedit, gnome-games, seahorse.

The AAC profile, as defined in gnome-media, and used by applications such as Sound Juicer and gnome-sound-recoreder, switched to LC-AAC profile . (GNOME bug 498617)

Ted Gould posted about gtk_timeout_add_seconds and a few modules (anjuta, ekiga, totem, libbonobo, libegg, brasero) already got fixes.

Niepce Digital got imported in subversion repository.

Xan Lopez added support for the WebKit web inspector in Epiphany (and Robert Carr did the same thing for seed minibrowser).

Vincent Untz got back hacking on gnome-panel, removal of libgnomeui and deprecated API usage, single include, bug fixes and stuff.

vino added correct support for IPv4 mapped IPv6, and added a new feature to able to set the network interface to listen on (GNOME bug 403183).

gvfs got a new trash backend written by Ryan Lortie.

Nautilus gained the possibility to call PackageKit to install applications for for unsupported mime types.

German Poo-Caamano gave some love to gnome-nettool (portability fixes, better accessibility support, and other fixes and enhancements).

gtkhtml got improved smileys (toolbar to insert them, obedience to the icon naming specification; screenshots are available in GNOME bug 563841.

Also, Przemysław Grzegorczyk wrote a lot of patches to clean up GLib and GTK+ includes, see GNOME bug 563413. This earned him a Subversion account.
