Every year brave players from the 5 continents gather together to define who’s the best in the deadliest sport there is: soccer.

While in its already various years of existence the FreeFA cup haven’t yet taken any victim, we still like to think it’s quite dangerous and brave to play.

If you would like to become part of history books and be admired for generations yet to come, sign up now in the GCDS wiki (registration required on the main page).

Pack up your shinpads and football shoes, plus one or two colours of shirts you can sweat confidently.

Teams and time will be sorted while on the island.

On Board

Monday, December 15th, 2008

I’m really happy and proud to say that I’m now part of the GNOME Foundation Board of Directors. :-) .

I can only say that I’ll do my best, although I have to confess that I will be shameless in taking over the control of the Foundation together with Lucas in favour of our beloved Latin América.

Thank you everyone!

And my first official action is to appoint Bruno Balboa Boaventura as Board’s security.

Evolution templates plugin integrated into trunk

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Thanks to the integration work by Bharath Acharya and the review by Srinivasa Ragavan, we now got Evolution template plugin (which I wrote some weeks ago) into trunk:

All this will be in 2.24 if nothing goes wrong (nothing should). So… yay! Maybe I’ll get a world-wide fan base now.

Kudos to Yannick for the original funding of my work.

  • FreeFA World Cup: All the fans of the most beautiful sport in the planet, deep lovers of the most important thing among unimportant matters. You are invited to come and join us in the fight for the supremacy, Tuesday 8th, at 17:00 in Ayazaga Spor Tesisleri (be ready at the university -the GUADEC venue- at 16:00, a bus will take us there).
  • PiscoParty: Those among you that last year had the chance of enjoying the fun of making and drinking Pisco Sour, this year it’s not different. The Pisco Crew will serve you the finest cocktail of all GNOME. This time, with a special guest cocktail: Algarrobina.
  • CheapBastardFoundation Annual Meeting: For the first year, we are getting together to discuss our world domination plans. You are free to join us, but be warned that you’ll have to prove your cheapness.
  • The Latin American Complot: we can’t let those gringos get away with all the fun!. Let’s get together and discuss some ideas for our tasty and sunny continent.

See you in Istanbul

Evolution templates plugin

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Like just published in evolution-hackers list:

I spent the last few days hacking a plugin to reply messages with
predefined replies, templates in my faulty english.

I don’t know what would be the ideal steps to follow now, should I try
to get it inside Evolution I guess? So far I have seen that I need to
anyway, given that it requires full evo source to build.

I didn’t want to import it in GNOME’s svn because I think I should get
it into Evolution rather than an independent module in svn, I
published it here:
https://launchpad.net/evolution-templates-plugin

Code is here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~diegoe/evolution-templates-plugin/trunk/files

And I uploaded a .deb for Ubuntu hardy, i386 here:
http://www.gnome.org/~diegoe/stuff/evolution-plugins-templates_20080604-2_i386.deb
md5: a39118cd944032cbb844560b2a37b704

I’m anxious to get comments about it :) .

Update: gunther asks for a screenshot.

The results of this year soc has been published: GNOME SoC projects.

My frog bro was selected for Mono: Visual XAML Editor.

It will be a great experience!

Epiphany with match bolding, substring matching, unicode searching and above all, the geekiest thing for a location bar: regexp support.
