HP recalling more batteries

HP are recalling more laptop batteries. If you’re affected, can you please email me the output of:

for i in /sys/class/power_supply/*/*; do echo $i; cat $i; done

and I’ll add the required rules to upower. Thanks.

    1. No, the announcement lacks the model data. The batteries could be made by “SONY” or “PANASONIC” or even own name rebrands.

      1. Perhaps you could contact HP asking them to release this information in future. Their open source rep Bdale Garbee might be a good entry point: bdale@hp.com.

BTW: When upower reaches RHEL/CentOS, Debian stable or Ubuntu LTS, how will those old versions receive updates about new battery recalls?
