Yeah, it’s pretty bad, isn’t it? Not dissing OSNews – it’s a good site, generally speaking. But yeah, these comics really are awful – neither well drawn, nor particularly funny.

In general, yeah sure, but that doesn’t mean he has to create a lazy shit comic and feel proud of it. I dont read it, but I think I explained why I hate it above. Its mere existence is an offense.

Oh no, I don’t believe he could. I do think he thinks he can, because he thinks he’s distilled XKCD’s constituent parts: 1part joke to 2 parts simple drawing, but he doesn’t have the passion necessary to do it.

You are *far* too generous I think – FIS is much worse than you make out and I think you credit the writer with too much intelligence when you say that he’s decided to make a less-risky XKCD. This insinuates that had he not made this decision, that he could attempt to make something on the same level as XKCD; which, very clearly, isn’t the case.

The most offensive thing about the comic strip is that they put it in their RSS feed, and every so often, when I’m tired and not quite as alert and awesome as I usually am, I click on it and get subjected to this horrible… thing.

OSNews is more than one person, right? I wonder why the other staff agreed to let this happen… Perhaps he came to the ‘office’ one day, all bright eyes and smiles, wielding one of his ‘creations’ and no one had the heart to tell him it was the most diabolical (and I use this word with full knowledge of what it means) thing they’d ever seen?

If you don’t like it you don’t have to read it. Why all the hate? I do often think that Holwerda still has some growing up to do, but in general it’s commendable that he’s putting so much of his energy into running osnews.
