    1. No, the changes haven’t been merged into this version. Some of their changes came late in the cycle and I was concerned about patching them in without more testing.

  1. why don’t you use crowdfunding for face recognition : every one pray for this evolution ?!…

  2. Hello,

Still no video thumbnails? I tried it in Debian Testing, but no luck… What are the dependencies for video thumbnails? I have both gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg and gstreamer1.0 installed.

    1. OK sorry, I found out that video thumbnails get generated once the video is imported into the library. I just thought that they would get regenerated also for all the missing ones…

      1. I was also waiting for this to happen ๐Ÿ™‚
Now that we have thumbnails for new videos, is there any way to regenerate thumbnails for videos previously imported?
        Thanks!

  3. Love shotwell, only issue I’ve ever had was when it lost it’s mind once and got some mixup between what was on the file system and what was in it’s index. Deleted the index and re-imported everything. Besides that it’s a dream to flip thru old photos. A lot of the design decisions are exactly in step with what I would choose myself when developing a UI.

Kudos & keep up the good work.

  4. Please make the following change:
    Reduced-picture display.
    -Hotkey for “cut”, “move”.
-Automatic save when you move to next action pic (without confirmation dialog).

    My requests relate, so that:
Have to edit a lot of photos.
All photos are of a size of 5,000 pixels (long download).
Each photo is only free trimming.

  5. I am a newbie.
I have a camera and a Doro Easyphone
When using Picassa in Windows 7 both camera and phone are recognised and I can inport photos from both.
With Shotwell, this works with the camera but not with the phone.
    Icon appears with camera.
No Icon in the dash when I connect the phone.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  6. Hi,
I like working with shotwell, I’ve organized my whole picture collection(>40000)with it.
But is there a way to work with network shares? What I mean is looking at a prewview of the picture when you are not connected with the share. For example like in Corel ASP2 .
