Diva… drool

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

I was very excited to read that diva will finally have a release. Diva is a very slick looking video editing tool. This is something we have been needing for a long time. Last year I played with it a bit, and it was nice! But, not ready for packaging. I hope to get it packaged when they release, which is *soon*.

She said yes…

Congrats to John and Kristin on their engagement today!  So a few weeks ago our friend John told us to reserve the date for their engagement party, he was gonna pop the question on the 25th.  I couldn’t help but to think what if she said no and he had 50 friends and family waiting for a party…. I actually was confident she would say yes…  Anyway, Kristin said yes and we had a great time at her parents house celebrating.  We will look forward to the wedding!

First Maintenance release in the 0.9.4 series

This is the first in a series of weekly maintenance releases for Foresight Linux 0.9.4. These maintenance releases help you stay current and also ensure that new downloads include the latest stuff. To update to MR1, ’sudo conary updateall’, that simple. There are new isos and Virtual Machine images as well, http://www.rpath.org/rbuilder/project/foresight/releases.

Changes in MR1:
* Made the switch to gstreamer 0.10
* A couple version bumps

GNOME 2.14 stuff showing up

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

So Foresight has been tracking each new tarball released and now some of those are "2.14.x".  Pretty exciting, so we are just 3 days away from GNOME 2.14 release day.  Foresight will of course have a release the same day, with GNOME 2.14.  So expect Foresight 0.9.4 that day.

Of course thanks to conary, it is very easy to keep up with GNOME development.  Keep an eye out for the release announcement… it is good stuff.  One thing I have to mention, the current GNOME 2.13.x unstable stuff is very fast.  There has been huge performance enhancements since GNOME 2.12.
