Simontol, my VMware image has taken a very long time to get updates detected, downloaded, and installed through PackageKit applet but it finally succeeded. To help it, i've upgraded the RAM of the VMware image to 512 MB instead of 256 MB because i've 1,5 GB physically installed.
I suppose it has taken this long time because it was the first run of PackageKit (and conary behind) and also because my CPU is a Centrino without hardware accelerated virtualization.
But it was very nice to see PackageKit updating automatically without errors :)
The only bad thing was there are not already the VMware tools installed so when i've tried Shutdown Guest it has powered off instantly the VM without letting time to Gnome and Linux to shutdown properly. I hope to see VMware tools installed by default in new updates.
Ken: thanks for this good packaging :) With it i'm more willing to contribute to the Gnome project with translations.

It seems to me not so simple to updateall... It takes a very long time to get updates and then when I click on Update in the tray icon it did nothing.
I had to use sudo conary updateall...

Great, I hope it helps. Please do let me know if there is something you would like see added/removed. It is still a work in progress, and of course only as stable as the svn snapshots of the packages included :)
