Gnome Journal

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

As long as I’m in a blog writing mood I should talk a bit about some stuff I’ve been up to.  I’ve written an article for the Gnome Journal that should be out in issue 15.  I review Hamster which I found to be a pretty solid little project on the whole.  It was somewhat recently accepted as an official Gnome module so if you haven’t checked it out yet you really ought to.

I’m also in the process of writing another article that is going to be an overview of DConf which is lining up to be the venerable GConf’s eventual replacement.   So be sure to check them out along with all the other great articles that should be coming out with the next issue towards the start of June.

The 16th issue is going to be focused on GUADEC so if you are attending please hop on #gnome-journal or gnome-journal-list and volunteer to write an article!

Married Man

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

Well after a week of honeymooning behind me I guess it’s time for a blog update!

On May 9th I was happily married to my longtime sweetheart and best friend Charity Fowler.  It was a small ceremony and a great reception/party afterwards.  It was a bit strange having all the family from both sides there in the same room, at the same time!

Every now and then I find myself looking at the ring on my finger and having a ‘Wow, I’m married!’ moment.  But really other then that not too much has changed at all.  We’ve been together for over four years and have lived with each other for just as long so nothing has really changed.  Yet, in some deep way I feel like everything has changed.

I’m sure with time and perspective I’ll be able to articulate the feelings better.  For now, I’m content with just being indescribably happy. :)
