Ah, new potatoes.... Absolutely delicious. Put some margarine or butter on them and/or eat them with some herring. It really can't get much better than that.

There is a very sensible explanation for bad finnish food:

The food is intentionally so crummy that you'll quickly forget about the lousy weather.

Btw, have you tried kalakukko yet? When properly made and fresh, that's really good (but then again, I'm a Finn and eat lousy food every day ;)

"How are Finnish strawberries different from other strawberries?"

Sweeter, tastier. The breed is different and they are grown more naturally. Plus the nights are light, which means they don't have some grow-dontgrow -cycle as in other places.. Which changes the taste slightly via a few mechanisms. They are really superior, although Swedish ones at least can be good as well.

*drool*.

I think Jeff is going to need to tighten up editorial policy to prevent pictures of tasty food being displayed on pgo. It's going to really lower productivity if everyone's keyboards are saliva damaged. ;-)

English strawberries are good too, honest!

@Garret, basicaly they are much sweeter than others.

@Jörgen, nah! New potatoes are indeed quite nice. But I wouldn't call them delicious.
