GNOME Volume Control (yes!):
This should mostly work:
* screenshot 1.
* screenshot 2.
Maybe I need to fix some terminology (ALSA? PCM?) and – like I said yesterday – hide some/most tracks by default. But otherwise, it seems finished and usable.

On to Eugenia’s UI.
