I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

hi, did you heard of jack-rack (http://jack-rack.sourceforge.net/), that is a gtk ui to load and stack ladspa plugins. Speaking of user-friendly, in the buzztard project (http://www.buzztard.org) we focus on a more mainstream ui, gtk instead of homebrewn graphics.

I recently purchased a Zoom H-4 recorder/audio interface. I previously read Paolo blog and was worried about the state of guitar in linux. However, despite its horrid color scheme, Rakarrak works really well for me. Add Tuxguitar with its ability to read gp3 tabulature files (huge amount available free on the net). I do hate the current situation with pulseaudio/jack. I filed a bug report on crashing i got with using the pulse sink under jack but wasnt able to get it to debug info.. so my current setup kills pulse when i start jack and restarts it when I exit jack. I recorded with Ardour and found it not too bad to work with.. I am sure its overkill for me but it seemed to work fine.

Hi Seth! Great to see you still around in gnome land! :)

I'll make sure to check those out... by googling around a bit I even discovered that gedit is fairly popular in the supercollider community due to http://artfwo.googlepages.com/sced so one more reason to check it out for me
