Farsight and Telepathy are not the same thing. Farsight is used by Telepathy as a streaming engine for RTP.

GStreamer doesn't do any networking, it just has network sinks/sources. You should come around #farsight and I can clarify things for you, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Eh, guys : farsight and telepathy are mostly the same thing as far as I know, and they're definitely *not* ready! They both use gstreamer's networking, and this isn't ready for ekiga (yet) !

You might want to have a look at Farsight. It does a bit more than what you want (all the RTP/networking) but doesn't do any signaling. It uses GStreamer for everything. Come on #farsight if you want more details.

Anon, you have to know that telepathy isn't ready yet. Ekiga is.

The code we use today has been well tested, and is known to work with many other implementations, from many vendors -- a very important point, since the goal of a communication program is to communicate!

Dropping it for the new kid in town would be outright stupid! Telepathy isn't ready for ekiga yet.

Be nice to see ekiga use a communication framework like telepathy for the network bits.

Pulseaudio fits in the idea that it's better to test several of the choices at first, even if we settle on a single one later (a later can be several years).
