I like the kid’s theme, except that terrible font used in the mockup. Just because this theme is more colorfull –and hence we assume that kids will like it– we pay them a disservice by using fonts that will eventually destroy their eyes. That font is not readable.

If you’re serious about this idea, why not get a proper kids designer to do it? I think there’s more to fisher-price type toys than just crazy colours etc.

I was thinking the same thing, the font is a bad choice. But the graphics are wonderfule! _I_ wanna use that!

It is just a mockup, but the font is a non-issue anyway, since the themes in gnome-themes will probably never specify a font to use (maybe suggest though).

And if you want to make kid’s like Eugenia or me happy add a Z-Snake to the Menus.

Great !!! One question: why some themes let the system draw so slowly? I mean: i installed Water Vapor (wonderful theme, from gnomelook) and my system slows down his performance (drawing windows etc etc), when set to Simple Theme backs to run nicely. Is there some need to create a gtk-engine??? I have an P4 1.7/256MB RAM/nVidia TNT2 M64 32Mb video card with nvidia legacy drivers loaded (Ubuntu). Regards.
