Rahul: As far as I know, I do have the latest updates. However, it is very difficult to know when I can't open the package manager in the first place. I guess that it may be checking for updates in the background, but that really shouldn't invisibly block the user from doing anything useful. It should be easy to program a way around that situation.

How about pulling all the stray theme engines in the various distros upstream, rather than wait for them to be pushed by the distributions. It is all GPL after all, surely they could be upstreamed to gtk-engines where they can be fixed properly, improved, and as you say no longer be a factor in people choosing one distribution over another.

Personally, I absolutely hate ubuntulooks as it is just so rough and pixelated and I don't think it compares in any way to the gtk-engines out there, I have however discovered a new love in GummyGillouche from abock :)

First get all the latest updates. The NetworkManager bug you mentioned was filed and fixed IIUC. For the rest of the bugs please file bug reports. The process is documented in http://fedoraproject.org/wiki.

Pirut probably is waiting on yum refresh deamon which checks for updates. You can disable this auto check if it bothers you.

On the Nodoka theme, I guess this is very much a subjective thing except for any theme engine bugs which you can file reports on. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

I hope Resume/Suspend finally work properly on my Thinkpad T41p. I'm very much looking forward to a better NetworkManager, but it appears there are a few teething problems and regressions. It has, in the past, been the stumbling block for my full time adoption of Linux.

I'm not a particular fan of the new theme, judging from screenshots only, but I'll give it a go, I'm quite boring actually, I like the generic Clearlooks theme a lot.
