Implemented images in rapicorn. So far, the various pixstream formats produced by gdk-pixbuf-csource can be deserialized and displayed, here’s a screenshot. The next item on the list is supporting libpng natively, ideally i’d add support for simple animations along the way, but the Animated PNG specification doesn’t seem to be moving forward anymore…

Why not just adding support for GStreamer, to support all kinds of images, as well as animated PNG ? Not sure whether there is a GStreamer plugin for Anim PNG yet, but it’ll come some day…
The Gstreamer suggestion sounds like a good one, particularly since Gstreamer already supports MNG (Muliple Network Graphics) which is intended to provided an alternative to Animated GIF. If I recall correctly Animated PNG was never supposed to happen and only started because some were dissatisfied with the complexity of MNG.
What is Rapicorn by the way?Due to lots of scheduling issues, we’ve been [way] behind on APNG work but we were just discussing fixing up the spec and finalizing it and the implementation details in the next few weeks.
