My ten-year-old daughter Riordon has been designing a font on paper and I’ve been building it in FontForge. RiordonFancy version 2 contains the whole ASCII set including all the numerals, and (by special request) an interrobang. This is the first time I’ve (helped) make a font. The licence is currently Creative Commons cc-by-nc, copyright Riordon Turner.

How about dropping the -nc so it can be included in Fedora and Debian?
I think the SIL Open Font Licence should be suitable.
I would like to see some Polish diacritics in version 3 ;)
I just showed this to my wife who is a children’s librarian in Oakland, California and she says that she’d love to use it for posters in her library. Also she says it looks childlike but it doesn’t look like it was done by a child. Very well done!

Well, for starters those http://www.typo.cz/euro/_typo/typo-polish.html characters are missing. It would be great if she could draw some for us Poles, and of course this font will be included in PLD Linux Distribution ASAP!
Nice font! I’d like to have some characters for spanish use: á é í ó ú and ñ.
If you are doing just one more, please let it be ñ, it’s vital for spanish!

Thomas, there’s a small issue – the font linked in this post and the one in the Open Font Library have two different licenses…
Thank you and your daughter for this nice publication. People are right, -nc is not ok for distributions, use the OFL or the GPL with font exception instead.

An awful lot of latin scripts can not be written properly with ASCII-only fonts.

not an issue: the version in the OFL is later than this one (2.1, I think). Rio agreed to change the licence given the discussion on this post.

Spanish and Polish and Czech characters are now in the version on my computer; we’re adding the cedillas tonight. Hopefully 3.0 will be released soon.
