Bloody hell.

What the hell is wrong with some of the people in this country? Some of the other papers have comments as well, but many of them are so sickening I couldn’t link to them.

While i’m here, why did ubuntu 8.04 install a damn beta of firefox? At least it’s easy to downgrade.

Because supporting Firefox 2 for the next three years would be suicidal, and even more so considering Mozilla won’t allow them to do that if they want to use the Firefox trademark.

I guess they plan on upgrading to Firefox 3 when it’s out, this being an LTS, that’ll allow to have an upstream-supported Firefox for longer. Although it’s strange to see a beta in an LTS, I admit :)

They choose the beta version to be able to provide long term support:

It’s supposed to be a LTS release. How can they put something in it like a FF beta. you know it’s going to have bugs, since, that’s the definition of it.
I’m personally really bothered with some of the choices made.
