Urban legend, or funny because it’s true? Either way, things like Project Blackbox start to look pretty smart for people who want to avoid “accidents” (ahem)(tags: humour)

Urban legend. An unfortunate side-effect of the Daily WTF’s move towards less technical articles in favour of higher advertising revenue.
That said, one assumes that anyone smart enough to be buying Blackbox units (or, like, smart enough to not have their server room dependent on a wall switch for critical cooling) would be smart enough to be paying for 24/7 monitoring of their equipment, so this would be a moot point anyway.
