Idea of the day

Mumblemumble. I’ve been pushing for more integration with all internet sources of freely-licensed content for ages, with no luck. :/

Oh, and if someone wanted to seriously work on this with a book focus, Open Library would be the other great project to work with.
If you wanted a broader, non-book focus, wikipedia is the obvious thing to look at.

Great idea Dave! It’d also be very cool to give the user a feed based off the kind of thing they like reading. I know our very own Hannah Wallach has been doing some very cool research into document similarity metrics.

Luis: how would you see an integration with Bookshare, Open Library, Wikipedia or Project Gutenberg working?

Hi,
I’m just a GNOME user who reads Planet GNOME, but I thought I’d post to say that I think integration with Project Gutenberg, etc., is a great idea.
I’d also like to mention the interface that I use for this currently, GutenPy: http://gutenpy.sourceforge.net/
GuntenPy includes features I find really useful, such as bookmarking, a dict.org lookup and library searching. I think evince would benefit from including this kind of thing, too.
Cheers!
