Meeting a Christchurch Stalker

Met up with Phil and James tonight over a few drinks in the Home bar in town. Phil managed to join the dots through the internet and connect me with Christchurch and then send me a stalker mail out of the blue. He’s the guy who’s written python bindings for Gmail and seems like a genuinely cool guy [not the whacko type that you generally associate with stalkers]. James, similarly cool, is a tech writer who studied math in college. It was fun meeting some tech people here and a chance to talk geek for a little bit – the other people I’ve met over here haven’t cut it on that front.
