Logo preference

10:39 am OpenSolaris

I’ve just posted another round of logos, this time including a baseball cap, and the designs on different colours. There’s a been a little confusion from people, assuming that I’ve been the one creating them – I assure you I’m not, I have zero design experience.

If I had a preference, I think I’d go with the Bubbles – it at least signifies effervescence, and good health. It also actually looks pretty darn good on a t-shirt or bag, and something that I’d happily wear walking down the street. Does it pass the ‘wearing geek t-shirts in a pub’ test? Hell yes!

Multicolor bubbles (or bubbles variation) would be great!

i want blue OS, it rocks! no stinky bubbles!

I didn’t like bubbles first up, but it’s really grown on me. The green bubbles look great against the black and it gets away from the Sun palatte. OpenSolaris definitely needs it’s own brand.

You can also read in a lot of different meanings into bubbles, effervescence, lots of components, ideas bubbling to the top, community of people, it’s even looks a bit like a star cluster incorporating the ‘solar(is)’ aspect.

    Go Green bubbles!

I actually like all over them except the “Orange OS Shiny”. I really like the “Orange OS”, but the Multicolour Bubbles look great too. When can we expect the final design descision and when can I get my grubby little hands on the merchandise? 🙂

I think the Multicolour bubbles look very good 🙂

Yeah, the bubbles do look good. Definitely not the shiny orange, it looks too much like Sourceforge(t).

Another vote for the multicolor bubbles along with the white/grey opensolaris wordmark.
