Searching for hardware on the LVFS

The LVFS acquired another new feature today.

You can now search for firmware and hardware vendors — but the algorithm is still very much WIP and we need some real searches from real users. If you have a spare 10 seconds, please search for your hardware on the LVFS. I’ll be fixing up the algorithm as we find problems. I’ll also be using the search data to work out what other vendors we need to reach out to. Comments welcome.

  1. Hi Richard,
I have an Dell XPS 13 and XPS 15, currently with F27 installed and I never got an hw update notification on my installed system.
Once I had a live image running from an USB stick and there I got multiple update notification, but got an error when starting the update process.
    You have a hint?
    Peter

  2. A few comments (ideas for enhancement):
    1. It would be nice to have all website resources on site, not loading them from 3rd party websites. This would improve privacy and security of website users.

    2. add the vendorlist and devicelist pages to main menu
