abi changes come and bite me; also, blt has moved

I didn’t get the 2.23.34 release out today, although the previous 2.23.x release was only a few days ago and there wasn’t anything particularly interesting to users that was new other than updated Vietnamese translations. All the tests ran, but when it was preparing the archive, the linker got confused about a symbol in cairo: undefined reference to `pixman_format_supported_destination'. Re-jhbuilding everything and changing the prefix didn’t do anything for it.

This post says that that was added in pixman 0.9.7, but there isn’t a 0.9.7, just a 0.9.6 and a 0.10.0. I suppose I have to try 0.10.0 next.

Also: my twitter client, blt, has moved from Google Code to Launchpad: here it is. People have been sending in lots of patches, and a new release is coming soonish. Thank you all.

  1. Sorry to drop in all off-topic like, but are there any plans for a Firefox 3 version of Geiriadur Cymraeg? Or is there an easy way to make it FF3 compatible? It’s the only plugin I miss at the moment.

  2. Dim problem. The addons people asked me for a 3.0 version a few months ago and I sent them one; I don’t know why the page currently shows the 2.x version but I suspect it’s because the 3.0 addons get released at the same time as the browser itself– or have other addons been updated to 3.0 already? If so, I’ll go and ask them what’s going on. I could also put the new 3.0 version up somewhere if you like, but obviously that’s less good.

  3. Yeah, FF3 is updating from addons now (although the ones that aren’t FF3 compatible are greyed out). So yours should be up there by now. Unless they are waiting for FF3 final before releasing the dictionary plugins? A possibility.

Thanks for updating it though, it is important that the old Cymraeg is represented :)
