  1. Just remember when he’s refused entry into the hall of fame. Threw it all away to gain an advantage even though he’s this great quarterback lol

  2. CRAZY NEWYRKR how come the ref who touches the ball on every single snap didn’t notice these “underinflated” footballs?

  3. All through the Deflategate process, one in which many voices were shouting many different things, there was one group that was conspicuously quiet: NFL quarterbacks, past and present.

Oh, a few would do a demonstration on PSI for television cameras or give a perfunctory quote about their own preference for an ideal football, but no one at all came rushing to Brady’s defense. There were two inferences to make from this: First, everybody was doing the same exact thing, so they hoped Brady’s saga would end quickly so they could get back to tailoring footballs to their specificities. Or, as Boston Herald writer Ron Borges told a Boston sports program this week, nobody besides Don Yee lept to Brady’s defense because no one believed his story, including Bill Belichick.

  4. Remember Belichick’s bizarre press conference from the height of Deflategate, the one in which it seemed like he was throwing Brady under the bus but was possibly trying to shift blame to the Golden Boy quarterback, someone who would never be sanctioned by the NFL? No one could believe it was the first, so the second made more sense, especially in a “Belichick is crazy like a fox” reading of the situation. Now it looks like it was indeed Belichick hanging his quarterback out to dry. Why else would he have repeatedly invoked Brady’s name at that press conference?

  5. Tom’s personal preference on his footballs are something he can talk about in much better detail than I can possibly provide,” Belichick said that day, 10 days before the Super Bowl, in a highly damning quote given well before anyone had heard of Ted Wells.

If anyone knows how to manipulate the media, it’s Belichick. That line about Brady wasn’t accidental or given without thought of what it’d mean or how it’d be perceived. Belichick knew what he was doing and, evidently, he knew what his quarterback was doing. And when Brady got caught, it was every man for himself.

  6. That bum lost 4 SBs in a row and played before the salary cap era. Probably cheated and lost as well lol. He should be careful with his words before he becomes another Jerry Rice

  7. Carl Rego I would never say Brady is not a good quarterback, his record speaks for itself. If he has rubbed the ball to take some shine off it and make it easier to grip, or whatever other quarterbacks do each and every week I really don’t care.

Bill bends the rules to get an advantage as any coach would do as they only get paid to produce wins.

My only concern, from what I understand it is a rule that everyone, especially players must cooperate fully with any investigation.  Here is where Brady fails, he has not cooperated. Why? Is he hiding something, I think the only reasonable answer is yes he is.

I do know how phones work, but I also know the Wells Report says he has not provided any content from any “electronic correspondence” that is not saying only cell phone records but any other records that are related.

Surely Brady also knows how phones work and his side of the message trail was there why not show that from his phone?

Just smells like there is something Brady is trying to hide that might paint a darker picture of his involvement.

  8. Mike Zuydam if you know how texts work then if Brady was talking to his these 2 guys then you know his text messages would have been recorded on the other 2 phones. Again I will say if Brady text the other 2 guys back like everyone is saying why wasnt his partbof the conversation on the other 2 phones. If it was why wasnt it in the report

  9. Mike Zuydam they want emails and text between Brady and the 2 employees. If I emailed you then you would have both sides in your email same goes for texting. Why wasnt the other half of Bradys conversations with these 2 guys which was what the investigation was all about recorded down in the first place. Why do you need his phone or his email when it would have been already with the other 2 guys in the report. No Wells was fishing for more info because there was no damming evidence between Brady and the Pats workers thats why and why Brady doesnt have to hand over anything. The Nflpa gives Brady that right for his own protection has a player the same rights all players are given and every player would do and I would expect every player to use it.

  10. I think Brady is one of the best quarterbacks maybe ever, but fess up and get passed it he’s supposed to be someone kids look up to!!!

  11. Finally someone sees the humor in this quote! Well done, take that.

Did the rest of you not even realize how funny underinflated balls sounds in this context?

    FFS …

  12. Justin Rivera I know your a true patriots fan, only a true patriots fan could say that and mean it!!! Ask the raiders if the NFL is out to get the patriots!!!

  13. Ed Mulrenan Peterson spent his time and Rice they tried to double jeopardy him so they don’t even compare!!!

Oh BTW, only 4 of the COLTS balls were tested at halftime and 3 of them were under 12.5 lbs on at least one gauge. 3 out of 4 ! And then they stopped testing Colts Footballs (supposedly ran out of time). It’s all in the report if you bother to read it, you’ll get off your high horse really quickly.

Here’s is the official chart of tested footballs from the report. Posted by me a few days ago.

The report goes on to say those 3 footballs were PUT BACK IN THE GAME still under inflated, and the rest of the Colts balls were never tested. So apparently it’s only illegal to play with under inflated footballs if you’re a Patriot??

    Full report

Oh I though you “thought so” but you don’t know what to think now do you? Now let me ask you, if YOU were reporting this story to the public wouldn’t YOU have reported these facts as well? So WHY have they not reported these facts to you? Because it doesn’t fit the narrative?! Because it would be RELLY hard to get people angry at the Pats if they knew the Colts footballs were also testing under 12.5, despite starting the game at 13 psi.

I question if playing with footballs under 12.5 is even breaking the rules! If they actually deflated the footballs, that’s cheating. Every team does it, but it’s still cheating. However if you start off at 12.5, you’re going to be under 12.5 after the first play, the NFL knows that. If they wanted a 12.5 minimum PLAYING weight, they needed to set the minimum starting weight above 12.5.

Bottom line, the Pats whipped the Colts even worse in the second half after they changed the balls out, AND won the Super Bowl against what most people thought was the best team in the league with everyone watching the footballs like a hawk. So there is actually NO evidence that this supposed cheating, if it in fact occurred, helped us win a single game.

PS You’ll notice we were FAR from the only team video taping walkthrough’s in 2013, we were just the only team they fined for it. Basically they made an example out of the Pats to get everyone to stop doing it, but if you listen to the jealous fans you’d think we were the only team doing it! But hey it’s ok, we’ll go on winning championships, they can go on hating. LOL

  15. Which brings up the question of why did they do it? Goodell already said “if Tom has any new evidence that will she’d some light on the situation I’m willing to reduce his punishment”. The key is new evidence not the same old gas law they have been clinging onto.

  16. Paul Frederick He knew it wasn’t right. I know it’s only a talk show but on Jimmy Kimmel at the start of the whole scandal he had drew Brees on. He gave Brees footballs that were deflated to psi ratings of 4 different degrees. One flat as a joke but one was 11, 12, 13 psi and he got all right. Brady knew when he was handed the ball. As much time as he has his hands on footballs he knows if it’s not right.

It was right enough for him, and what he had to do with it. The man obviously just works with what he has, without complaining. Now if he’d stopped the game because some balls were a little off of air we’d never hear the end of that either. Then he’d be a prima donna, that complains about every little thing.

  18. Paul Frederick better safe than sorry where a team with a reputation is concerned is my view. I would rather they take a minute to check and be on the up and up than hurry up and end up like this.

  19. Chip chop

How do you explain the fact that the officials couldn’t tell by handling the footballs, even though they were told to watch out for them being underinflated? Also I’ve seen the talk show routine on several shows, but you know what they never do? They never hike the person the ball while he’s being rushed by the defense, have him find an open receiver and complete a pass, with 4 different inflations and tell us which ones were under inflated.

BTW if Brady should have known, why shouldn’t Luck have been able to tell the Colts footballs were under the limit? He MUST have known right, he handles them every day doesn’t he??

  20. Chip chop

Oh I thought you were concerned with people playing with under inflated footballs. My mistake. Obviously you are just looking for an excuse to sooth your butthurt. Good luck with that.

  21. Cesare Beccaria they know the pats were scared to play the #1 D. They cheat to get there and got lucky on one play. You won’t make it this year.

  22. Media driven story against the most hated team equals headlines. Best they can come up with is air pressure? Air pressure vs PED’S which players are getting suspended for left and right? Ol Tom’s legacy is gonna be just fine..
