So the CarNet trial period that came with my 2014 VW Jetta is expiring. I don’t need it, because I have AAA  Plus. I ride a motorcycle, so I need something that covers both.

But the in-car service might come in handy, although I have used it zero times since activating. So I called, and offered to pay US$500 for a subscription for the life of the vehicle. The answer was no. So instead VW gets nothing.

Volkswagen / Volkswagen USA I am trying to give you money. Why exactly would you say no? Do you not want money?

I will not be buying or renting this movie, because while I feel badly for rank-and-file SPE employees affected by the hack, SPE is still a company that:

1). Has been hacked so often their network security should, at this point, be hardened like a NSA datastore. And they still blame everyone but themselves.

2). Actively used their corporate influence to push for legislation that would turn the Internet into a paid content delivery platform rather than a free market of ideas.

3). Is entirely capable of a false flag op to get a movie that, by all accounts, is not very good some free publicity. Or capable of being complicit in a government false flag op to discredit North Korea.

I have nothing but disdain for the Kim regime. I am no DPRK apologist. But that doesn’t mean I have to choose sides and become an SPE apologist.

Sony, treat me like a valued customer, ensuring the safety of my personal information and working for a free and open Internet and I might spend money. Until then, I’ll watch something else.

First, very sad. This was entirely preventable.

I hope that a demilitarization of police, decriminalization of marijuana and a message from the top levels of justice and law enforcement that police are servants and protectors of the people are top agenda items.

But I’ll bet it all turns out to be hand-wavey “can’t we all just get along” racial posturing. Because that can get you elected without having to do anything.

I have faith in the black community to keep leaders on point. I hope those leaders listen.
