I just wanted to say that you to everyone who commented and provided Feedback on my last blog entry where I asked for feedback on what would make you switch to Fedora Workstation. We will take all that feedback and incorporate it into our Fedora Workstation 23 planning. So a big thanks to all of you!
Is there some way to turn on / off automatic updates?
You are taking this farther and farther away from my ability to control.
Sometimes coding changes cause problems because they slip through testing that have unintended consequences. These changes look good in an isolated set of test cases. But the final test occurs when things go live.
Almost always, In such cases it is best to roll back to a version that works until the developer fixes the bug that causes havoc. I have seen a period as long as 4 months go by before a fix is available (or a work around is figured out by someone other than the developer).
So please allow me to control the updates by allowing me to determine whether or not I want automatic updates.
Those who forget history will themselves repeat history and sometimes the lessons are painful.
