Oh, speaking of, now that I type at 111 wpm with colemak, I’m looking for a ‘backword’ key, so I don’t have to hit ctrl+backspace whenever I mess up.
I don’t like the word ‘exotic’.. experimental, maybe, or niche perhaps, but to say ‘this layout isn’t popular, let’s not put it in the gui’… that’s dangerous.
That’s why I don’t use OS X very much.

ethana2: I do not insist on any word, it is subject to discussion. I just mean statistical aspect: “RELATIVELY few users would use variant xx(yyy)”.
About “not showing in GUI” – that is a separate issue. It is up to GUI developers, usability maillists etc. For example, as a gnome developer, I could use some gconf key to trigger showing or hiding THOSE variants….
