With the GNOME elections now over I thought I should
summarize why the GNOME community elected the different
candidates and why some where not elected.

    Reason people voted for him: With a name like Havoc
    and a surfer dude accent we can choose no other leader.

  • Miguel de Icaza (191)
    Reason people voted for him: We want GNOME to be
    rewritten in C Sharp

  • Daniel Veillard (189)
    Reason people voted for him: Viva La XML

  • Jim Gettys (182)
    Reason people voted for him: Yay! Free iPaq’s for
    everyone at GUADEC 3.

  • Jody Goldberg (153)
    Reason people voted for him: Ok, we voted for ya can
    we now get those darn OpenGL graphs in Gnumeric?

  • Nat Friedman (146)
    Reason people voted for him: Ok the Evolution
    cheerleading squad was good, but now we want a GNOME
    cheerleading squad and this time wear a real cheerleader
    uniform.

  • Jonathan Blandford (142)

    Reason not enough people voted for him: No we will
    not call it GNU\GNOME.
