Foresight and Xorg 7.0

I am happy to be running Xorg 7.0 on my Foresight laptop now. Seems to be working well, though still needs a little work to make everything work the way it should. Mostly updates to rhpxl and rhpl so system-config-display works right. There is also an dependancy issue that is pulling in a old version i need to track down. And I have three packages that aren’t building now, pyxf86config, tk, and xterm. We need to track that stuff down then we should be ready to ship it!

Nice day for a cook out

To celebrate our big win at LinuxWorld, we had a nice picnic and played some volleyball. The weather was perfect, food was good, and we had a pretty damn good time playing some volleyball. It was very nice to get outside, get some exercise, and “bond” a bit.

Good work everyone!

NetworkManager bug fixed

I have been plagued with a broken NetworkManager since 0.6.0 was released (now at 0.6.2).  Odd thing is that it worked for others and not me.  Specifically we had confirmed reports that NM worked on Foresight with madwifi (I have an ipw2200).  Finally got it working… Should work fine for the masses now, try it and report results please.

Diva… drool

I was very excited to read that diva will finally have a release. Diva is a very slick looking video editing tool. This is something we have been needing for a long time. Last year I played with it a bit, and it was nice! But, not ready for packaging. I hope to get it packaged when they release, which is *soon*.

She said yes…

Congrats to John and Kristin on their engagement today!  So a few weeks ago our friend John told us to reserve the date for their engagement party, he was gonna pop the question on the 25th.  I couldn’t help but to think what if she said no and he had 50 friends and family waiting for a party…. I actually was confident she would say yes…  Anyway, Kristin said yes and we had a great time at her parents house celebrating.  We will look forward to the wedding!
