- Music. Before I end up postponing this (like the last three years, cough) I’m publishing my list of awkward pop music preferences which is never complete. Especially because this year I had the “pleasure” to spend way too much time in front of a computer screen writing many words. While listening to lots of music to keep going.
My favorite album of 2014 is an easy choice because nothing else came close to No mythologies to follow by MØ. Though the latest album by The Dø is also great stuff.
Other helpful music (not necessarily released in 2014):
In the guitar section: Now, Now, The Joy Formidable, Wolf Down, and マキシマムザホルモン.
In the blurrier section: Sophie Hunger, The Naked and Famous, The Hundred In The Hands, I Break Horses, Chvrches (The Bones of What You Believe was probably my favorite album of 2013), Hundreds, Florrie, Natalia Kills, an entertaining DJ set by Purity Ring (their version of “Grammy” is also impressive), and Supersilent.
But to really summarize the year in one line: “Time is just a fiction of my mind. I will survive and so will you.” - Work. Took a path out of the comfort zone: Migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator.
- Growth. I’m thankful to people who (sometimes unintentionally) made me question, learn and realize things: Thank you Lenka, Quim, Sumana, 佐伊, Kačenka.
