Winter & Black Stuff

In the last few weeks, I’ve got three nice black devices:

  • Nokia N81 8Gb: I really like the design and mechanics of this device. The software has some additions but nothing really groundbreaking.
  • PlayStation 3: I’m having lots of fun with both games that came with the console: Motor Storm and Resistance: Fall of Men.
  • Macbook Black: Very nice design and hardware (with this “Santa Rosa” architecture). I’ve installed Gutsy. Unfortunately, I needed to rebuild the kernel 4-5 times in order to make keyboard, touchpad and sound to work. I don’t have patience to build kernel anymore. I think I’m getting old… :-P

Now I’m prepared for the winter! Woohoo!

  1. I have a black Macbook, rather than dual boot it I purchased VMWare Fusion. Your mileage may vary, but it met my needs for being able to use both Mac OS and Linux without dual booting.

  2. I’ve got one of those S60 phones too, mines the N95 and I love the hardware, GPS, 5M camera, GPRS – EDGE – 3G – Wifi I think the hardware is spot on… but the OS sucks, to get to my call log I have to go to applications! When I press C twice in a txt it magically jumps back to the home screen, instead of deleting the last two characters… Amongst many other annoyances!

    However, motorola are worse :)

  3. Karl: you can press the green dial button, which will bring up the call log :)

I also have an N95, i think if i were to go for a phone now it would be the N95 8gb or the N82.
