In Chile we copy everything even gnome planets styles

Hanna has started the GNOME Women project, if i remind correctly in our past GNOME Meeting in Concepción, there was a couple of girls who are very interested on the GNOME Development and one of them was the fastest for finishing the exercises that i gave to the group in my GTK+ tutorial, so come on girls join Hanna!

The past friday, i travel to Concepción, we get there at 6:30 am, then went to DuocUC. Almost at 10:00 am we start the reunion, there was a lot of people like 40-50, the talks was really great but we had to move the practical sessions to the afternoon because the computers didn’t have installed the packages that we required for doing it.

After lunch, Alejandro gave his tutorial about Docbook. Then i gave my GTK+ tutorial, the classroom was full, i even saw some attendees sat on the floor, in some way, that make me really happy, because it let me know that we are doing the things in the right way.

At night we went to Andres’s House to have a dinner and saw the futbol match ‘Chile v/s Bolivia’, Chile won 3-1. I went to sleep very early, because i was really tired. On Sunday, we ride to the bus terminal, sadly, I had tickets for the “Camilo Henriquez” terminal and the guys for “Collao”, so i had to wait my bus from the 13:00 to 16:00 hrs alone in the station. I got Santiago at 23:30 hrs and my parents were waiting for me on the terminal, yup i’m a lucky dude.

The Saturday 4 of June we are going to celebrate the first Gnome Meeting (aka Reunión de Formación de Hackers GNOME) for this year at Duoc UC Concepción who kindly host it for second time, thanks!.

I’m going to give a talk about Contributing to Gnome and after lunch a practical session about developing with GTK+, fun fun fun. I’m happy for traveling to Concepción, I have a bunch of good friends there, that i hope to see this time. Oh! if you’re going to travel from Santiago to Concepción let me know it so we can travel together or at the same hour :-). Ok so… what are you waiting for? come on and join us!, we’re going to have free beer! (just kidding but i’m going to ask…).

The last week my sister Loreto sent me a really cool battery charger for my birthday, she is so nice with me :-), I really really hope she can come to visit us this year. Well now I don’t have to spend money on alkalines batteries anymore, as you know for a digital camera they aren’t so good.

Today i saw Napoleon Dynamite and i finally noticed why Nat told me “Vote for Pedro”, some several times when i saw him on the IRC.

well today i’ve migrated my blog to blogs.gnome.org. Why? basically because i’m getting tired of the offline time of my old blog, like 3 days a week isn’t nice, now for sure that will not happen. And now i don’t have to worry about updating the blog software 🙂
