  • Garrett Regier contributed a GJS plugin loaded to libpeas.

  • William Jon McCann added a number emblem to indicate the number of queued messages in notification daemon.
  • Bastien Nocera changed gnome-settings-daemon to hard-code the default screen DPI, as it’s not possible at the moment to rely on the X server giving a decent DPI value. (GNOME bug 643704)
  • In Totem Tim-Philipp Müller fixed screenshotting of interlaced videos. (GNOME bug 640993)
  • On the infrastructure side, in the sysadmin-bin module Olav Vitters started rewriting and improving many of the release tools.
  • Debbie Beliveau patched GNOME System Monitor to also show the CPU model on ARM. (GNOME bug 606769)
  • Cosimo Cecchi made a huge pass on Adwaita to restyle the theme according to 3.0 designs.
  • Transmageddon was updated by Christian Schaller so that all transcoding is now done by the encodebin engine.
  • Ray Strode updated GNOME Screensaver to get the user face from the accounts service. (GNOME bug 643162)
  • In GNOME Shell Guillaume Desmottes fixed the status menu to change Instant Messaging presence when needed. (GNOME bug 617207), while David Zeuthen moved the calendar handling to be out-of-process. (GNOME bug 641396)
  • Lucian Langa fixed evolution-rss to work asynchronously, so it doesn’t block the Evolution process. (GNOME bug 634478)

  • Shaun McCance removed the bookmarks editor dialog from Yelp, instead it’s now possible to mark and unmark bookmarked pages with an icon in the location entry.
  • In pygobject Martin Pitt made Gio.Settings behave like a dictionary, with transparent conversion from and to GVariants, this makes it more comfortable to use. (GNOME bug 640838)
  • Chris Kühl continued on his port of GNOME System Monitor to GTK+ 3, switching libraries after a lot of cleanup work.
  • Giovanni Campagna made GNOME Shell extensions translatable.
  • Christian Persch made possible to postpone Dr Wright break immediately. (GNOME bug 621640)
  • Michal Hruby added a zeitgeist dataprovider plugin to Totem.
  • Paolo Bacchilega added the ability to search and filter files with a single tag in gthumb. (GNOME bug 633884)
  • Several rhythmbox plugins were ported to use GObject Introspection by Jonathan Matthew.
  • In the region control center panel Sergey V. Udaltsov made layout filtering much faster.
  • Florian Müllner updated the shell app view to use larger icons, to match the mockups. (GNOME bug 639428)

  • A new histogram view has been added to the sidebar of gthumb.
  • David Zeuthen finished the port of gnome-disk-utility to GTK+ 3.

  • Lucas Rocha started adding a “Sound Thing” to the board.
  • Shaun McCance modified yelp to automatically install packages for missing documents.

  • Vivien Malerba added initial support for rich text rendering in libgda reports.
  • Jon McCann changed gsettings-desktop-schema to no longer have icons on the desktop by default.
  • Adel Gadllah implemented cross overview drag & drop in GNOME Shell, allowing draging to the activities button or the hotcorner (and thus opening the overview), which then allows the user to activate any window (even on different workspaces as a drop target. (GNOME bug 601731)
  • Jose Aliste fixed several security issues in the DVI backend of Evince.
  • The eog plugins system has been ported to use libpeas, and plugins were updated accordingly. (GNOME bug 626091)
  • gitg has been ported to use gsettings by Ignacio Casal Quinteiro.
  • Paolo Bacchilega re-added the semi-transparent properties box in gthumb fullscreen mode.
  • Gary Lin scaled down the GTK+ print dialog size, to make it fit on a typical netbook screen. (GNOME bug 637958)
  • Jonathan Matthew fixed the podcast status on download completion in Rhythmbox, this should make it possible to complete downloads that fail due to connection errors and the like. (GNOME bug 633469)
  • Robert Ancell worked on the glChess vala rewrite, starting work on a chess clock, and adding back 3D board numbering.

  • Florian Müllner implemented side-by-side tiling in Mutter; when dragging a window over a screen edge and dropping it there, maximize it vertically and scale it horizontally to cover the corresponding half of the current monitor; this has been enabled by default in GNOME Shell (GNOME bug 606260)
  • Eog has been modified to ask the user whether to reload externally modified images. (GNOME bug 534348)
  • Alexey Fisher added two optional video filters to Empathy for video chat support, for both limiting the maximal framerate of webcams, and reducing video noise. (GNOME bug 628789, GNOME bug 628786)
  • Pdfmod gained zoom slider/buttons, by Gabriel Burt (GNOME bug 614378, GNOME bug 628437)
  • Hans Breuer improved UML objects in Dia, allowing them all to have their line width, font, and font size changed by the user. (GNOME bug 86238)
  • Image loading performances in GThumb have been optimized.
  • The Evolution calendar got some new neat (and meaningful) animations, in the clutter-calendar-v2 branch.
  • Giovanni Campagna added an Universal Access status indicator to GNOME Shell; it allows the user to change rapidly the keyboard and mouse behaviour (sticky keys, slow keys, bounce keys, mouse keys), as well as the enabled ATs (magnifier, screen reader, screen keyboard) and the HighContrast Gtk theme.
  • The “wcf” branch of Blam has been merged, adding usage of System.ServiceModel.Syndication instead of the RSSFeed and AtomFeed libraries. (GNOME bug 550803)
  • In GTK+ Havoc Pennington added margin and alignment properties to GtkWidget.

  • Thomas Wood added region and city comboboxes to the new date and time control center panel.
  • Aleksander Morgado contributed a feature to enable or disable selected books in devhelp. (GNOME bug 619202)
  • Nate Stedman replaced the system() call by the usage of libarchive when saving documents in Ease.
  • GThumb has been updated to preserve the EXIF data after lossless rotations.
  • Vinagre has been migrated to GtkApplication. (GNOME bug 596733)
  • Arx Cruz added a new password dialog to Zenity.
  • The three-point-oh branch of cheese has been merged, rewriting Cheese in Vala and making advantage of Clutter.
  • Paolo Bacchilega ported file-roller to use GSettings.
  • Seed has been updated to build against the gtk 2 or gtk 3 versions of WebKit, at user choice.
  • John Stowers created a gtk-3.0 branch of pygtk, to prepare a pygtk version that, while not based on gobject introspection, would still be a step towards GNOME 3.
  • Aaron Bockover changed the Amazon proxy URIs of Banshee to some supporting geo-IP redirection, redirecting users to the Amazon stores appropriate for their countries.
  • Benjamin Otte has been working hard on the “rendering-cleanup” branch of GTK+ 3, chopping much of the old drawing system, where cairo usage is more appropriate now.
  • In GSOC land, Dragos Dena finished the snippets editor for Anjuta, Jamie Nicol almost finished implementing Last.fm radio playback in Rhythmbox, Luca Invernizzi completed the couchdb backend of Getting Things GNOME, and others also worked, of course…

  • Shaun McCance added a (roughly) topological page sort for Mallard documents.
  • Evince, GNOME Shell, Brasero and Empathy all have been switched to GTK+ 3.
  • Jakub Steiner commited new symbolic icons, forcopy, cut, paste and more.
  • Support for non-GObject fundamental objects has been added to gobject-introspection; it is mostly interesting for being able to support GstMiniObject’s which are extensivly used in GStreamer.
  • Peter Bloomfield has added support for older IMAP servers, that do not advertise the “RIGHTS=” capability, to Balsa.
  • Robert Ancell added support for enumerations in dconf-editor.
  • Johan Dahlin pushed a llvm branch into pygobject, he explains the purpose on his website, in Using LLVM to speed up function invocation in a dynamic language binding post.
  • A backend for tasks has been pushed into evolution-couchdb.
  • Enrico Minack added currency support to the Invest applet. (GNOME bug 339127, GNOME bug 609547).
  • The feature_backup2 branch of glom got created, which adds support for making backups, and restore, of glom databases.
  • Aaron Bockover added handling of Amazon MP3 store music previews and samples to Banshee.
  • The ability to sort by image/video dimensions has been added into gthumb.
  • Last, the summers of code are still making improvements, for example Luca Invernizzi started working on both a remember the milk and a couchdb plugins for Getting Things GNOME, and Michal Hruby spent time improving Sezen, etc.

  • GSettings ports again, nautilus-sendto, gcalctool were both switched this week to use GSettings. nautilus-sendto has also been ported to GTK+ 3.0, and Rygel as well.
  • OpenID support has been added to Snowy, the web companion of Tomboy.
  • Daniel P. Berrange added support for colourmap based pixel formats to gtk-vnc, his patch implements full support for rendering from colourmaps, this should improve performances in low bandwidth situations.
  • The notification-daemon got support for multiple screens and monitor changes (GNOME bug 622552)
  • Christian Persch ported the SVGZ support in librsvg so it can use GZlibDecompressor instead of libgsf. (GNOME bug 621699)
  • Damon Chaplin worked quite a lot on a new API for goocanvas, in the new-api branch of goocanvas…
  • GNOME Shell got support for icon buttons in notifications, thanks to Matt Novenstern. (GNOME bug 621014)
  • Morten Welinder fixed the excessive memory usage of gnumeric related to column styles when reading xslx files. (GNOME bug 622365)
  • Michael J. Chudobiak switched the documentation of gthumb to Mallard.
  • In Empathy support for importing old Missing Control 4 accounts has been removed.
  • Bastien Nocera ported the sound preferences dialog to be a panel in the new control center; and Richard Hughes ported the preferences dialog of GNOME PackageKit.
  • The GNOME Panel got support for gobject-introspection, for its panel applet library. (GNOME bug 622341)
  • In Vinagre Jonh Wendell implemented the “take screenshot” command for the SSH connections.
  • In the land of GSOC students Jamie Nicol finished off the profile view (screenshot), Stéphane Maniaci added some informations about the photos imported from Flickr (titles, descriptions, authors), Michel Hruby started a Totem plugin to allow searching for recent media, and other students were also hard at work.
